On April 24, 2014 Dennis Hellenius joined his loving wife, Evelyn Julieanne Hellenius (Hauff), while in the presence of his surviving daughters Emerald Hellenius Spicer, Angela Shepherd and son-in-law, Ken Shepherd. He appreciated the visits from many in his final days including his sister, Annemarie (Gerry) Fraser and youngest brother, Peter (Linda) Hellenius. His brother, Michael (Audrey) Hellenius sent love and support from Antigua.
He was predeceased by his parents Rolf August Hellenius and Kathleen (Kit) Lillian Eileen Hellenius (Bryant) as well as his brothers Franklyn Allan Hellenius, Lawrence Nolan Hellenius and sister-in-law Karen.
Dennis was briefly in the Armed Forces from 1961-1965 completing electronic and communication training which he later used extensively during his long career with BC Tel /Telus (1968-98). He was an avid outdoorsman; Enjoying hunting, camping, hiking, fishing, golfing and many other pursuits.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 31, 2014 at the Royal Canadian Legion, 761 Station Ave, Langford, BC from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. In Lieu of flowers please contribute to either Canadian Blood Services or the Victoria Hospitals Foundation.
