It is with incredible sadness that we announce the passing of Jon. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Heather; Mother, Jean Peeters; Daughters, Andrea (Arlen), Shawna (Terry), Raychel and Courtney; Grandchildren; Nadia, Rowan, Milo, Brook, Grace, Alex and Aaron; Sister, Elly (Garry) and nieces, Laura, Jacqueline and Nicole. He was a friend to many and an inspiration to all. Jon fought a heroic battle against cancer over the past two years. He was extremely brave throughout his treatments and surgery. He never complained and was incredibly patient & polite. Jon was an amazing man full of life, love and laughter. He always had a joke or funny saying to share. Jon was an intelligent man. He had an amazing capacity for trivia and told the most interesting stories. He was known for his love of hockey, baseball and fishing. Jon loved his daughters unconditionally and was always there for them. There was always a twinkle in his amazingly blue eyes and his wonderful smirk for each of them. Jon adored his grandchildren and called them all, “his little monkeys.” They call him OPA and he loved their laughter. They found comfort and loved to snuggle up in his brown leather recliner with him. He was known for a good wrestle and tumble when needed. Jon spent his retired years doing what he enjoyed most which was tinkering and helping others in the handyman role he played in many people’s lives. Jon was a kind, considerate and a loving gentleman. Jon was the best-of-the-best of husbands who adored his wife. He was my best friend and my hero. Jon was a shining light in our lives. Jon will live in our hearts forever. No funeral by request. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Victoria Hospice. |
