Domenico Fedele Melizza

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Domenico Melizza on January 3, 2016 at Victoria General Hospital.

Remaining to cherish Domenico’s memory are his wife Rosa and children: Vittoria, Tony (Katy), Gabriele, Roberto, Linda (Jason) and grandchildren: Sara, Jayden, Jareden and close family friends: Joyce, Dorothy and Pat.

Dad was born in Mozzagrogna, di Chieti, Italy on January 19, 1930. In 1955 he came to Winnipeg with his wife and mother-in-law to join their relatives.  Shortly after, be began work in a shoe factory, soon after he started his career as a union labourer specializing in construction, terrazzo flooring and tile setting.  In 1970, he moved his family to Victoria BC where he continued his career skills working for Campbell Construction, City of Victoria at Beacon Hill Park,  Provincial Government Parliament buildings doing tile restoration work and swimming pools at Van isle Water Services. Dad’s favourite hobbies over the years included gardening, wine making and working on his castle (home).  He enjoyed hosting lively dinners with family and his many close friends over the decades.

Funeral service will take place at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 798 Goldstream Ave,  1:00 pm Thursday January 14.
