Michael Fred CLARKE

In Loving memory of Michael Fred Clarke October 5th, 1947- December 12th, 2025.

Michael Clarke passed away peacefully on December 12th, 2025, with family present , on his own terms.

Mike was born in Vancouver , moving to Smithers for the last 3 years of high school, which he fondly considered his hometown. Mike attended secondary education in the lower mainland and it was when  he met his “Current Wife” Carol  , they moved to Sooke in 1974 , where together they raised their boys, Chris and Dan, Where he also enjoyed the garden, fishing, Cooking and music.

Both Mike and Carol loved to travel. Mike went to many of his bucket list destinations.

He is predeceased by his parents Eric (Hop) and Charlotte Clarke and his in-laws Ruth Dearman (Hollinger Nee Osterman) ,Bill Hollinger and Nephew Joshua Wise.

Mike is survived by “Current Wife” Carol of 55 years, son Chris (Sarah)  granddaughter Kimberly (Cody) grandson Eric (Sahara) great grandson Alexander , son Dan (Jodie) bonus grandsons Harris and Carter, as well as Carol’s sisters, brothers in law, and nieces and nephews .

Mike was as solid and strong as the forests which he worked in. Mike hid his soft interior with his crusty exterior and had a gentle and caring heart,  But for those who were lucky enough to know him, knew that his family was everything to him.  He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
