Greg, Joyce, Mary and family. My deepest condolences. I admired so many things about Brenda, especially how unapologetically true to herself she was. She was genuine and boy she was fun to be around. Even when we lost curling matches. She stood firm in her beliefs and principles and was the most sincere and non judgemental person I knew. And she was most certainly the most loyal, and best confidante a person could have. Her love of life and love for Greg was so rooted in who she was, and so very inspiring. In her last months, the best gift Brenda gave me was connecting me with another best friend, where we will continue to share memories of Brenda for a lifetime. She will forever live in my heart. I love you and dearly miss you Brenda.

Greg, our most heartfelt sympathies to you, your family, Mrs. Kotyk, Judy, Audrey, Joyce and families. Wishing you Peace to bring you comfort Courage to face the days ahead and Loving Memories to forever hold in your heart ❤️ I have sooo many truly wonderful memories of Brenda that I will cherish forever. This cool and sassy girl joined our school in Arran in her final high school years and chose me as one of her friends. I felt so privileged that she would want to hang out with little old shy me and could not believe how lucky I was. Brenda was a natural at bringing out the best in people and making them feel just as important as anyone else and letting their light shine!!! From camping at Madge Lake, learning to Disco Dance to Night Fever, to belting out "Paradise By The Dashboard Light" at the parties we went to. From drinking Fontana Bianco in our teens to Tequila shots in our 60's we always had alot of fun and so much laughter. (I'm going to miss hearing that laugh) She was a "true gem" who was and always will be respected, admired, but most of all loved. Brenda, I am so honored to call you my dear friend who I will truly miss but will never forget. Thanks for the memories! 💞

Hi Greg, we’ve never met, but I loved , admired and highly respected Brenda. Sure was my supervisor at Mountain and supported my every endeavour. I was going through some very difficult times, she always took the time to listen sharing with me very wise words, despite the demands of her most hectic position. One time I had put myself down in her office, that was the only time I was disciplined, she told me that she never wanted to hear me talk like that again! May God bless her soul and comfort you in these most challenging times ahead. Cathey (Kich at that time)

Greg, Aunty Mary, Joyce, Judy, Audrey and families, I am so sorry for your loss, a beautiful light gone way too soon. I have many wonderful memories of good times, fun and so much laughter. From playing in Baba's yard at family gatherings, riding our bikes from our respective homes to meet on the corner. Camping trips, triple features at the drive-inn, drives to our spot on Thunder Hill. Brenda arranging tickets for a bus trip to Calgary to see Elton John in 1984. Building a snow man and snow woman in your back yard on Munroe (yes, we were adults). Our trip to Barbados, Brenda and Greg were the best travel companions, what a great time that was! Greg, Brenda told me when you first got together, your arms were close, but not quite touching, that there was an electricity between you two. She knew that you were her "one". What a beautiful love! That will never go away. Brenda, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend. Always loved. Never forgotten. Love and hugs.

I am so sorry for your loss Greg. Brenda took the time to visit me last summer, it was such a good visit catching up on everything since her retirement. I was really looking forward to bringing my daughter with me to visit her on the island, and going for a walk with her on that beach she showed me. She was such a huge support in my career and I really valued being able to go to her for advice even after she retired from corrections. I have so much respect for her and her accomplishments. Just thinking about all the things she taught me, the encouragement, the push, the shared drive to be successful. She was my sounding board and someone I could trust for sound advice when I needed it. It’s really hard to believe she’s gone, but she will never be forgotten. Thank you Brenda for always believing in me. Rest in peace my mentor and friend.

We are deeply saddened to lose our dear friend Brenda. We have been so blessed to have been close personal friends of Brenda and Greg for 30 years. I first meet Brenda when she came to work at Rockwood Institution. I was Brenda's supervisor at that time and was always impressed with her integrity and motivation to learn and develop her skills as a Parole Officer. She was a pleasure to work with and to mentor. Brenda and Greg also became good friends of my parents and our daughter. Even after they relocated to B.C. our friendship continued. I will always remember Brenda's sweet personality and her giggle. She was a loyal and thoughtful friend. She would surprise me by sending a special gift that she knew I would appreciate, like Starbucks coffee, a cookbook or her nephew's garlic products. We are so grateful for the time we spent together in Tobago and Yuma and the wonderful memories made. Rest in peace Brenda and we will look forward to sharing that Tequila shot when we meet again. Love you, Terry and Pam

Brenda was such a beautiful soul and the best friend I’ve ever known. I will treasure forever the many years of great times we shared. There are memories of her in every corner of my home, in every drawer I open, on every table is another perfect gift that she gave me just because she knew it would bring me happiness. Her smile, her laughter and her incredible wit and humour will stay with me forever. I have so many vivid memories of us just laughing and laughing and laughing and of course dancing in my living room. We had the best of times! And of course our shared love of food and all the many great meals that Greg and Brenda prepared and we shared. Greg my heart is forever with you in your grief. You two shared a beautiful love like no other. May your many years of happiness bring you peace and comfort until you two meet again. Your Angel will forever be with you. Lots of Love, Laura
