Obituaries

WILKINSON, Bryan William son of Gladys May (nee Harper) and Henry Wilkinson, born March 8 1944 in Ottawa, Ontario, passed away suddenly from a heart attack on September 11 2013 in Victoria, British Columbia. Bryan leaves his beloved wife Betty, only son Carlton Bryan Wilkinson, Daughter in law Shannon Faye (nee Wolstenholme) and grandchildren Sophia Brooke and Maxwell Clark. Bryan is survived by his sister Joyce Eleanor Owens (nee Wilkinson) of Florida and brother Lanny Wilkinson of Ottawa. As a young man Bryan loved to play the trumpet, write and would delight in the worlds natural places. After a vacation to the west coast and falling in love with it, Bryan left a college instructors position teaching English at Sir Sandford Fleming College, and moved his family to Victoria from Peterborough in the summer of 1979. After getting to Victoria, Bryan took to Provincial Civil Service at Consumer Affairs, Liquor Control and most recently with the Residential Tenancy Branch as an arbitrator; a job he loved where surrounded by people he admired, he could apply the deep intellect he was known for. All are encouraged and welcome for an open house Saturday September 21 2013 at his son’s home at 824 Leslie Drive in Victoria between the hours of 1-5pm.
