Cecelia Bradfield, in her ninetieth year. Born at Tsartlip to Martin and Esther Cooper. As a young woman, she worked in San Francisco, where she met and married Roy. They returned to his native Iowa, to eventually operate a successful family bakery. Their last venture before retirement was Bradfield’s Bakery in Sidney.
Mom loved everything to do with gardening. As diminishing vision and osteoporosis took their toll, her enjoyment was limited to listening to her canaries and enjoying the flower beds Nev planted for her.
She will be missed by partner Nev, son Tom (Cathy), special nephew Doug (Janine), grandsons Joe and Roy (Jolene), five great grandchildren (Braedyn, Keegan, Ethan, Thomas and Tillie), family and friends. Predeceased by husband Roy and daughter in law Becky.
Special thanks to Sabrina who always brightened the day with a smile and a story, and to the staff of both Saanich Peninsula and Victoria General hospitals during her last, brief stays.
No service by her request. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any organization that directly assists homeless people.
