Dawne Leonne Cressman, 74, of Mayne Island, British Columbia
passed away suddenly on November 3rd, 2021.
Dawne was born on March 26th, 1947 to Dorcas & Wellington
Cressman in Kitchener, Ontario. Her sense of independence &
adventure led her to an early life of travel & exploration. After
graduating from Hill Park Secondary High School in Hamilton,
she went on to work for Canada World Youth & Oxfam where
she travelled to Costa Rica and many other countries. She was
always energized by seeing new sights & meeting new people,
particularly if they shared her fondness for travel.
In 1981, she gave birth to her son Joshua in Halifax, Nova Scotia
where they lived until moving to Mayne Island, British Columbia
where she remained a resident for over 30 years.
Dawne was a tireless crusader, constantly looking out for the
underdog and those she felt had injustices done to them. She
always made sure they had a voice.
Dawne is survived by her son Joshua and her brothers Dennis &
Daniel and their families. A memorial of remembrance will be
held on Wednesday, November 17th at 2PM at Dinner Bay Park
on Mayne Island.
