Obituaries

I knew Dawne in Halifax in the early '80s and in Vancouver after we had both moved back here. In 1987, at the request of Divya Prabha, a beloved yoga teacher we both knew from Nova Scotia, Dawne and I set up the first visit to Vancouver of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (then called Punditji). They stayed in Dawne's home on Kitchener off Commercial Drive. Later I believe she and Josh lived around 7th and Nanaimo, which seemed a long way across the city until I moved to the East side myself in late 1990. Over the years I would think of Dawne as I drove nearby. I remember that she loved Mayne Island but as we lost touch I didn't realize that she had been living there for so many years. For some reason her name came into my head this morning and so I looked her up and was saddened to learn that she died over four years ago. She looks radiant and happy in all the photos posted here....and I hope she was. My belated condolences to Josh and her family and friends.

I am sorry to hear of Dawne's passing. I have been trying to find her and Josh for some years now and just came across this. We were close when she and Josh lived in Access Housing Co-op. Josh and my son were close. She was remarkable and left a lasting impression on me. Condolences to the family and Josuah.
