Obituaries

Born in Glenboro, Manitoba. Passed on the River Nile in Luxor, Egypt. Predeceased by parents Cecil and EGwen and brother Morley. Survived by wife of 52 years, Shelley, his children Brock (Amber) and Kirk (Geraldine), four grandchildren Keaton, Wyatt, Logan, and Pádraig, siblings Hugh, twin Dean, Miriam, Robert, Tom, Cathy, and Anne, sister-in-law Jamie and brother-in-law Kevan and their families, and long-time and little-while friends too numerous to count.

He left the family farm and moved to BC where he attended BCIT for engineering and operations management. He was part owner of Metro Blasting before turning to medical office management. He was an active parent volunteer, often coaching his kids’ hockey and baseball teams. He was the first male president of St. George’s Auxiliary. He loved gardening but his biggest love was taking care of his family. He was the cornerstone of the family, “Mr. Mom,” Dad, Grandpa Don, and Uncle Donnie. In recent years, the grandchildren were his greatest joy. His love and devotion along with his kind spirit and sense of humour will never be forgotten.
