We were so saddened to hear about the passing of Dorothy. She was such a dynamic and amazing woman! Dorothy has been a fixture in the development and growth of the Canadian College of Performing Arts. Since its inception 17 years ago Dorothy has welcomed young artists from across the country to the college, supported them financially, raised funds for the organization and celebrated all of their careers and successes. Dorothy was an active volunteer, founding our annual “Day of Bridge” fundraising event, helping in the operation of the college and in later years supporting students with scholarships and sponsoring programs like the Year III Company C Studio Ensemble. She has impacted the careers of hundreds of young passionate performing artists and she will be dearly missed. As I (Ron) told Dorothy at our recent lunch: “You have left an incredible legacy with your volunteer work and philanthropy right across this country - from coast to coast”! We will remember her stories fondly and she will always remain in our hearts. To Norma Jean and all of Dorothy’s lovely family, please accept our sincere condolences, on behalf of everyone at the Canadian College of Performing Arts, Ron Schuster and Darold Roles, College Directors

I am so sorry to hear of Dorothy's passing. She was such a wonderful lady and a tremendous supporter of the students of the Canadian College of Performing Arts. Recently the College Board honoured Dorothy with the first award for a Distinguished Supporter. A letter was read from a graduate of the first class who described her as an 'angel'. The students loved her and so appreciated her annual scholarship awards. Just prior to her passing, she was still helping us, providing advice on how to improve our Day of Bridge, which was named for her. On a personal note, Dorothy and I came from the same home town and I so appreciated her stories and fun. It was clear that she loved her husband Harry and family. My deepest sympathy to her children. You had an amazing mother and we were fortunate to have enjoyed her spirit and kindness.
