Our mother, Edna Ernestina Adam (nee Fierbach) passed away at Sidney Care Home in Sidney BC on January 8, 2025, at the age of 100.
Born in 1924, the youngest of 12 children, Edna grew up on a homestead in Moosehorn, Manitoba. She was hard working, feisty and fearless – thriving on challenges and new experiences throughout her long life.
Edna married our father, Alfred Adam, and soon after this, they went together as missionaries to India. 12 years later they returned to Canada with 7 children! Edna and Alfred were married for 38 years until his death in 1988.
At age 75, mom married again to the wonderful Joe Simpson. They enjoyed 18 very happy years of travel and fun together until Joe passed in 2019.
Edna Adam will be missed by her many friends, 7 children, 22 grand children and 20 great grand children – and remembered as a remarkable woman with a deep faith and strong love for her large family and circle of friends.
