Elsie “Lesa” Klassen was born on June 19, 1950 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, to John and Sara Klassen, the only daughter among seven children. At age five, her family moved to the Peace River region of BC, where Lesa’s quick wit and resilience flourished amid her boisterous brothers. Faith was central in Lesa’s life from a young age, guiding her through joys and challenges.

After high school, Lesa attended Peace River Bible Institute and Millar School of the Bible, forming lifelong friendships and deepening her faith. She became known for her kindness, creativity, and tireless service—teaching Sunday School, leading Bible studies, and making everyone feel welcome.

After facing the challenges of single motherhood with love and strength, Lesa raised her three children—Jerod, Bekki, and Rachelle—with unwavering devotion. In time, she found lasting love and joy with her husband John, and together they built a warm, welcoming home. Lesa was a talented cake artist and founder of Cakes of Splendor, creating memorable cakes for countless celebrations. Her humour, generosity, and famous puns touched all who knew her.
Lesa passed away peacefully on September 30 surrounded by her loving family.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Saanich Peninsula Hospital Extended Care Unit 2 for their compassionate care in Lesa’s final years.
