Obituaries

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of George McClure on May 22, 2021. George passed away with his loving and devoted wife Aum and friends Colin and Nikki by his side after a brave and hard fought battle with cancer. George was born in Larne, Ireland May 31, 1943 and immigrated to Canada in 1969. He later moved to the west coast where he loved exploring, hiking, boating, painting, and gardening. George was a much-loved husband, adored brother with beloved siblings in Canada, England, and his cherished Ireland.  He is survived by Kathleen Beggs (sister), Pam Baxter (sister), Ian McClure (brother), Beatrice Barr (sister) and May Aston (sister). George was a loyal friend. He excelled at what was important: making people feel comfortable, making them laugh, making them feel special, and making many lifetime friends.  He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and generosity. He will always be remembered, never forgotten and loved by all that knew him, especially his sweet and gentle Aum. He will be forever missed.
