Following a lengthy illness, the family of Gerald Peter Reid announced his death on
Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the Victoria Hospice in Victoria, BC. Surrounded by the
love of his wife Teresa (Jakubiak) his daughters Jayne (Gray) and Wendy (Purcell)
and his sister in law Maria (Wong).
He leaves behind a never ending legacy of undoubted love and entrenched memories.
He was many things to his family and friends. His profound knowledge of history, golf,baseball, politics and deep interest in opera, classical music & quantum physics were a tremendous gift to us all.
His great love and devotion to Royal Military College (#5206) was a highlight of his life as it helped shape the principled gentlemen he was.
He leaves behind to mourn and smile with great remembrance his sons in law
(the Davis’s two) David Gray and David Purcell, his grandchildren, Jason Gray,
Jaynie Purcell and Courtney Little (Cameron), his sister Janice Reid and his brother
Jim Reid. He was adored by many brothers and sisters in law and his nieces and nephews.
A remembrance and reflection of Gerry will be held at a later date, in Ontario.
