Obituaries

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Glady. She passed peacefully in her sleep at Glengarry Hospital. Glady was born in Cobble Hill and moved to Victoria at a young age where she resided for most of her life. She married Morran Waller in 1942 and they built their home in Fairfield in 1951, where she raised Ian and Kitt. She lived there until 2010 where she enjoyed her family, friends and neighbors, and tending to her large garden. She was a wonderful Mom, and her home was frequently the gathering place for the neighborhood children where everyone was warmly welcomed. Glady’s love and vibrant personality touched everyone she met, and she was surrounded by many caring friends and family throughout her life, including during her last two years in Glengarry. She is predeceased by her husband, Morran, and two sisters, Hazel and Mary. She is survived by a sister, Doris Johnston, two sons, Ian (Colleen) and Kitt, and two grandsons, Graeme and Ross. The family would like to thank the staff at Glengarry for the care and love she received while she resided there. Glady will be sadly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held at the Uplands Golf Club on Saturday, July 6th, 2013 from 2 – 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SPCA or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
