Harry Alexander Gray
A few days before he said he was going to heaven and he was going home,
and on February 20 2014 he did.
Born March 10 1916 in New Glasgow Nova Scotia to the late Henry Irving
Beecher Gray and Mary Alice (Rood) Gray.
Survived by his loving wife of 71 years Dorothy Hazel (Phillips) Gray, his
son Allan R Gray (Donna Hunter) of Campbell River BC, his daughter Norma
Jean DeWolfe (Mark) of Victoria BC. deceased son Robert Irving Gray (Penny
McIntyre) Gray of Windsor Ontario and 5 grandchildren 13 great grand
children.
Harry attended Kings Collegiate school and Acadia University Windsor NS,
Dalhousie University Halifax graduating as an Industrial Engineer.
In 1940 he was chief planner at Canadian Car and Foundry aircraft division
where they built Fleet Finch, Hawker Hurricanes and Avro Ansons.
In 1946 they moved to Brockville Ontario and worked at Phillips Wire &
Cable.
Here he was district Scout leader and a Free Mason Sussex Lodge 5
Brockville.
In 1953 they moved to Windsor Ontario, he was an engineer for Ford Motor
Co. until his retirement 1980. Living in Victoria BC to be near their
children and grandchildren.
He loved his Labrador retrievers CFC & AFC champions and his gardens.
Harry will at a later date be taken back to Nova Scotia and a service will follow.
In lieu of flowers donations could be made to the Kiwanis Pavilion Victoria
who took special care with compassion at his end of life.
