Born: June 19,1928 Passed: April 17,2014 It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our family member.Ivan William MORRIS passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. The founding member of the Geronimo Canoe Club, a strong advocate for the survival of our SENCOTEN language, a language teacher, former elected Tsartlip council member and strong Coast Salish cultural leader; our treasure will be missed and many memories cherished in our hearts forever.
Predeceased by: Parents: William and Esther Morris (nee Tom), Wife:Madeline Morris (nee Henry), Siblings:Abe, Marge, Mabel and Mena,
Children: Evelyn and Betty, Grandchildren:Wayne and Nicholas,
Great-Grandchildren: Richard and Gabrielle. Survived by; Siblings:Esther, Adeline and Sainty Morris, Children: Richard, Ivan (Wayne), leonard, Howard, Bruce, Sylvia and Ivy, 33 Grandchildren, 70 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews and relatives.
We would like to raise our hands in appreciation to: Beacon Community Services, Saanich Adult Care Society, Tsartlip Heath Staff, Delores Steverson, Anna Sawyer and others who graciously volunteered time to care for our treasure.
