I first remember meeting John when I was 18 as I went to stay with him and Esther in Richmond. They both made me feel at home and very welcome, it was at this point I met Adrienne and I had a really great holiday. My wife and I stayed with John and Esther after we travelled through the Rockies. Over the years I have seen John on numerous occasions and the last time I met his wife Maggie. John always made me laugh he was a genuinely funny man and I will never forget the time I was in the car with him and he pulled up next to another car with a huge man in it wound down my window and said oh I really like you. I didn’t know where to look but as we pulled away I couldn’t stop laughing. John was going to play the organ at our wedding but unfortunately due to illness was unable to fly to England. It was such a shame as I had seen him play the organ in his shop and at some churches in Canada. A very talented man who I know is at peace in Heaven. To maggie and Adrienne I send my love at this difficult time and hope that in time your grief will ease and you will remember John for the kind man that he was. I am unable to attend the funeral from England but will be thinking about you at this difficult time. Love and best wishes for the future Richard
