Obituaries

Leona Melody Fyfe was born in Edmonton on January 8, 1974 but lived most of her life in Victoria. Leona had a life force and a warrior spirit that we thought would carry her into eternity…and it likely it has but sadly as of May 31, 2019 she has taken that spirit to another realm where she now resides with her “best friend, lover and soulmate, Stephen (‘Bear’) Masters”, who passed away 15 long years ago. Two lives that tragically ended too soon but are now forever entwined.
Leona was also predeceased by her grandparents, Kenneth and Alice Monkhouse, whom she adored, her baby sister Rebecca, her Dad, Michael and her cat, ’Trouble’ (she would say, “I’m not asking for trouble, I’m just looking for ’Trouble’).
She is survived by her Mom, Sarah Ross, her beloved sister, Crystal Fyfe, her Aunt Linda, her ‘Auntie’ Susan (with whom she forged a strong bond over the last few decades of her life) and Uncle Shaun, cousins, Aaron and Kalen, nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends, many who are like family (especially all of the people who have supported her over the years, whose lives were as impacted by her force of nature as she was impacted by their caring and concern – in particular, her friend Willow and her long, enduring, loving relationship with ‘Nathalie’/Barb). Fortunately, her kitten. ‘Healy’ (who was sharing her ‘healing’ journey) has found a loving, stable home.
Leona “loved to make people laugh”. May she rest ‘in peace’ knowing she will always be loved and remembered ‘in power’.
