Leona Theresa Cornelson (Flemming) June 6, 1935 – Sept 4, 2013
In memory of Leona who, despite having chronic health problems, remained optimistic and provided a bright light for those who met her. She was a great mom, loving grandmother and a true role model.
Leona was born in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan and attained a registered nursing degree before moving to Calgary. She ended up in BC to be closer with her children.
Leona loved the color purple which she wore often to go with her hair. Some of her favorite things included sunny days gardening, music, playing crib and she was an avid sports fan. She loved to visit with her children and grandchildren and treasured going with them to Beacon Hill Park to feed the ducks and get an ice cream.
She is survived by her daughter Jacquie, son Dean and grandchildren Justin, Lareina, Sam and Natalie.
Thank you to all of the health care providers who took such diligent care for her.
A special thank you to her personal angel, Darcel, for her thoughtfulness and companionship all of her years in Victoria.
