Marcelina Bolaños Baldauf was born on August 30, 1933, in Calauag, Quezon City, Philippines to the late Andres Domingo Bolaños and the late Justina Salvaçion Bolaños.
She departed this life on June 28th, 2014 in Victoria, B.C.
She graduated in 1957 from the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines with a degree in nursing. She was integral in the establishment of the Victoria Filipino Canadian Association in 1969 and served as its first president. She was made an Honorary Citizen of Victoria in 1986 for her volunteer work in multicultural activities. In 1987, the Government of Canada awarded her the Multiculturalism Award.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rudolf Baldauf.
She is survived by her sister, Nenilia Bolaños dela Luna; nephews: Edward, Raphael (Blanche); niece: Michelle (Mihai).
Funeral mass will be held on Monday, July 7th at 12:00 pm at Queen of Peace, Victoria, B.C. Another funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 9th at 11:00 am at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Vancouver, B.C. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Burnaby, B.C. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish.
