Margaret was born in Edinburgh, Scotland to parents William and Janet Morham. She passed away peacefully in Victoria, British Columbia at the age of 95 years old.
She will be remembered fondly by her only child Kenneth William Millar (daughter in law Heather), and grand daughters Alanna Hoffman (Michael), Ashley Fawcett (Kyle), and Erica Millar.
Margaret was predeceased in 1988 by her loving husband of 38 years, John Millar.
During WWII she joined the Land Army as a milk quality tester, travelling to many farms around Scotland. In 1950 she married John Millar, who was playing professional football for Montrose F.C. They enjoyed many wonderful nights ballroom dancing at the venerable, Palais, in Edinburgh. Margaret was very fond of going to ‘The Pictures”, before TV came into vogue in the fifties.
In 1964 Margaret, and John, decided to emigrate to Canada, arriving in Montreal on the HMS Carinthia and then travelling to Winnipeg by train where they settled. In Winnipeg, she worked as an administrative assistant in the Food Science Department, at the University of Manitoba, until her retirement in 1986.
In 1986 Margaret and John moved to Sidney, B.C. for the water and the weather. She participated in a 5 pin bowling league, travelled on cruises, trips to Reno and bus trips to Skagit. Margaret was an avid reader and enjoyed a good murder mystery book.
The family wish to thank the staff at Beckley Farm Lodge, for the excellent care they provided and the empathy demonstrated with her passing.
May Margaret rest in Peace.
