I am so shocked to hear of Marlene's sudden passing this past week. I feel so fortunate to have gotten to know her beyond 'the front counter' at Coast Collective. Geraldine and myself always made sure we worked on Thursdays so we could spend some time with Marlene. She spoke so lovingly about her family and told some very amusing stories. She had a wonderful and quirky sense of humour. The three of us met for lunch several times to keep in touch and were just planning our next one. She will really be missed.

My sincerest condolences to you and your family for the untimely death of Marlene, mother, wife, and friend to all. I was a member of Coast collective in its infancy and usually worked Thursdays so had the wonderful privilege of working with Marlene. She taught me about money! I came to learn she was a dedicated person to family and friends and a number one volunteer!. She talked excitedly about her travels and was always happy when her daughter was coming to visit. I shall miss her and again my condolences to you her family. Sincerely Lynda Slater

We were all shocked and saddened to hear of Marlene's sudden passing. She was an important part of the dedicated community of artists, craftspeople and lovers of the arts who comprise the Coast Collective. Her loving commitment, her often cheeky sense of humour, wisdom and generosity of spirit have made a positive difference in our community. Our Thursdays will never be the same again. We are grateful for having known and loved Marlene. With our deepest condolences.
