| A great life ended peacefully January 2, 2014. At age 80, Nancy was predeceased by her husband of over 54 year’s of marriage Samuel Lake Wylie (2007) and daughter-in-law Sandra Annie Wylie (2011). She will be dearly missed by son’s Stephen, Raymond (Evanda), Paul and daughter Tiffany (Sean). Her grandchildren Tannis (Mike), Ruth (Rick), Kyle, Colin, Seth, Zack, Matthew and 3 great-grandchildren plus all her remaining family and friends overseas. Nancy was born in Paisley, Scotland, September 16, 1933. Engaged to the love of her life Samuel at a summer dance in 1952, then married April 3, 1953. After starting their family they immigrated to Calgary in 1965 followed by a move to Victoria in 1974.Nancy was very active in her church and was in high demand as a speaker and teacher. With her husband Sam they served a 2 year mission in Scotland. She also served as a past Worthy Matron in the Eastern Star, Queen City Chapter #5. Her career with the Victim Services Unit at the Victoria Crown Council Office was what she was most proud of. Nancy was a compassionate, loving woman with exceptional empathy, a fantastic Mother and valued friend. A service of Thanksgiving for Nancy’s life will be held January 11, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2990 Quadra Street, Victoria. In lieu of flowers, if desired, a donation may be sent to Victoria Hospice or Jubilee Hospital. Many thanks to all staff at Victoria Hospice. |
