Roger joined the Gordon Head Garden club in 1991 and was a member for 25 years before he left the community for a retirement home. He was always an active member and actively participated in our plant sales. On behalf of the club, we offer condolences to his family. Delcie McLellan, Gordon Head Garden Club

Jeremy, Jennifer and Stephanie, What a fantastic tribute to your father. Our family lived next to the Walker's for many years on Cheritan Ave in Toronto. Roger, Mary and the kids ( and sooty? not sure of the spelling) were always very respectful neighbours and friends. I know I speak for our entire family in saying our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you as you grieve his passing. Roger was a great person who lived life well. May he R.I.P. Roger and I have known each other for most of our adult lives. We first met in the ‘60s when his son, Jeremy, and my son, Paul, became friends at John Ross Robertson School in Toronto. Our boys spent many happy times in each other’s homes and we developed a strong friendship over the JRR years. The next time we reconnected with Roger and Mary was in the ‘90s when my wife, Helen, and I moved to Victoria to retire as they had done previously. The last time I saw Roger was on 25th April 2017 at the Empress Hotel when he and I attended the TD Bank retirees’ luncheon, and he was just as gregarious as ever. I have very much appreciated his friendship over the years, and I hope that your fond memories of him will sustain you in your loss. Sincerely, Ted Tidey (Nanaimo B.C.)
