Our lovely mom has gone home. Predeceased by husband Jim, parents James and Sarah O’Hara, brothers Terrence and Dennis O’Hara. Survived by her three daughters Jeannie, Terry Ogilvie (Martin), Kathy Clarke (Greg) brothers Fred and Tommy (Nellie) O’Hara. Grandchildren Brian (Catherine) Ogilvie, Shannon Ogilvie, Paul Clarke, Matthew (Louisa) Clarke, Michael Clarke, two great-grandchildren, Sophia and Nolan Clarke and several nieces and nephews.

She was an army wife who followed dad all over western Canada – Comox, Winnipeg, Whitehorse, Calgary, Victoria, Edmonton and final posting in Victoria. Although she enjoyed her postings mom was a West Coast girl at heart and was happy to return to Victoria.

She was a loving mother and a prayerful woman of great faith who was active for many years with church activities at Our Lady of the Rosary church in Langford. She loved to read books on her catholic faith but also enjoyed a good murder mystery and in later years really enjoyed TV mystery movies especially the British murder mysteries on PBS and the Knowledge Network. Mom had a great sense of humour and laughed a lot. If recounting a funny story to her she would laugh and say “I can see this in my cartoon mind”.

Our mom always had words of advice such as “always keep a kleenex in your pocket”, “never pass up a chance to use the toilet”, “it is better to have no friends than the wrong friends” and, “before talking about someone else, ask yourself – is it true? is it kind? is it necessary?”

She will be sadly missed by her family and friends and as mom would say “May the good Lord surround you with saints, and angels and holy friends.”
