I knew Peter as my friend's Dad and also as a caring, generous, and extremely intelligent man who made me feel like I had a second family when I needed one. I am so saddened to hear about the terrible accident and his sudden passing.

There are so many stories I wish to share about Dad. Here are a few that I relayed to family or have pondered in recent days as my standout memories: - family slideshows, mainly from Dad's photography - drawing on placemats at restaurants - designing and and renovating both the kitchen and deck in Delta, BC - the days it took him to boot up his first Compac / IBM computer and his excitement regardless of the frustration - building FIMO figurines and dough craft ornaments at Christmas - the garden, the yard and fruit trees and the maintenance of the pesky caterpillar nests - co-writing my first essay in Grade 8, the Amazon Rainforest, and the countless hours he has the patience for me - co-creating my art portfolio to gain admission to (formerly) ACAD / art college - our road trip through the States after I graduated from Art Therapy school, from Nelson, BC into the Okanagan, WA and back through Waterton to Calgary, AB - coming full circle to live nearby his family again with a lovely home with a garden in Port Alberni, BC Seeing Dad complete his 2022 cross-Canada journey with Sharon and Dooley (the dog) was impeccable. I was privileged to share his last days with him, Sharon, Anne Marie (sister), Craig (Sharon's son), his girlfriend Kylie along with my boyfriend Brent. May his blessing continue to inspire and shine light on our paths ahead. See you in Maui with a Mai Tai again someday...Love you always Dad!!

Dear Sharon & Family; We are sorry for your loss and know that you are in our thoughts. We met Peter a few times and always enjoyed the time that we spent together. He loved to tell stories from his past. Treasure the memories that you have and always remember his spirit. Remember that we are only a phone call away. Kevin, Kathie, Kailey and Cole

Bigger than life. That is how I would describe this intelligent, witty, creative artist, full of incredibly good (but sometimes not very practical) ideas… I don’t know how he managed to come up with these brilliant thoughts, knowing that most of them will never see the light. We drank his favorite Tennessee whiskey, Jack Daniel’s (he called it bourbon) as we shared stories of our past adventures, achievements, mistakes, and disappointments. We enjoyed cutting wood, building simple projects, and using his ancient tools while he explained their history. Rest in peace, dear Peter. I will miss you, my friend. Marwan

My dad was a kind-hearted man. He was silly, funny, creative, and always had a new "brilliant" idea to share. He taught me how to fix things, how to garden and harvest food, and encouraged me to take care of myself. He attempted to teach me how to drive, but I scared the heck out of him, so Mom took over that task. He made certain that I finished high school, and then got myself a university degree, which were no small feats in my rebellious years. When I was a child, he was the fun guy who showed his affection through gift-giving: the Nintendo, the trampoline, outings to Mr. Sub for Club Subs and drives to Bellingham, WA to go shopping and get fudge. My fondest memories include our trips to Disneyland and Maui - he loved playing in the ocean with us. His famous dad words - and incidentally his last words to me - were, "You can only do what you can do, darlin'!" I love him and will miss him greatly.
