Born in Bristol, England, on October 9, 1926, Grahame died peacefully in hospital in Victoria, BC, on December 1, 2015 surrounded by loved ones. Left to lovingly remember him are his adoring wife of 50 years, Heather; his devoted children of whom he was very proud: Mark (Briana), Kathryn (Ian), and Sarah; and his cherished grandchildren Stuart, Tristan, Madeline, Will, and Callum.

Grahame grew up in England during the war, graduated in theology from King’s College London in 1955, and worked in parishes in London (UK), Vancouver, and Victoria, completing his distinguished career in Kingston, Ontario.

Grahame spent much of his life tirelessly serving others – family, friends, parishioners, and the community – through his preaching, ministry, and music. He had a gift for distilling truth into a ten minute sermon, and delivering it with humour and feeling. A man of many strong passions, he will be remembered for his love of British comedy, his bountiful and artistic gardens, and the beautiful music emanating from the piano as his children drifted off to sleep at night. Grahame had an ever-present twinkle in his eye and a quick wit, and his genuine love and compassion for others always shone through. He was an inspiration to many, providing strong support and a positive influence to a wide range of people throughout his life.

Grahame persevered through health issues in recent years to enjoy time with his family, which he held close to his heart. He led a full life overflowing with love, music, family, and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. K. Yvorchuk, Dr. A.D. Atwell, and the exemplary staff on 4A South at VGH.

A celebration of Grahame’s life will be held at The Church of St. John the Divine, 1611 Quadra Street, Victoria on Tuesday, December 8 at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
