Hi Barb. It was with great sadness that I read of Richard's passing in Postscript. We taught across the hall from each other for a couple of years in Johnston Heights, and then again in Beagle. Without his help I never would have succeeded with my typing classes. He was kind and happy, and when I saw him a couple of years ago he encouraged me to move to the Peninsula. Which I did. Recently. And i had it in my thoughts to touch base this summer. I was sorry to have missed the Celebration of Life especially since I moved so close. I was lucky enough to visit you home in Surrey before it became condos and it was tended with the same care as everything in his life. Wishing you all the best memories.

My sincere condolences to you and your family, Barb. I, too, lost Steen three months ago and so this is a new journey for us. Although you have been somewhat prepared as you dealt with Richard’s lengthy illness, you’re never completely prepared. Hopefully, all the good memories of the time you and Richard had together will comfort and lift you up from the sadness. I have fond memories of playing Bridge with you and Richard and I always appreciated how much time and effort he put into his duties serving on our Strata. Sending you a hug, Merrilyn
