Robert also known as Bob by his friends and Robin by his family was born January 9th, 1929 in Victoria, BC and passed away peacefully on July 4, 2019 at the age of 90 years. Bob lived in many places and cities throughout B.C. After retirement he moved to Duncan BC where he lived happily with his wife.

Bob was predeceased by his wife Marguerite, his parents Earnest and Florence E Kinney, and brother David Kinney.  He leaves to mourn his daughters Lannette (Ken), Melanie (Wayne), Lynn and son Ken, and his sister Jane Birnie. He also leaves behind five Grandchildren, Lyla, Ben, Isaac, Nichelle and Andie, as well as four Great-Grandchildren, Talon, Faith, Aurelia, and Aiden. Also Bob leaves to mourn many Nieces and Nephews plus sister-in-laws and a brother-in-law, and many caring, devoted friends, as well many loyal comrades from the Royal Canadian Legion and his Shuffle Board Team in Duncan BC, and his newfound friends at Arye Manor in Sooke BC.

Bob belonged to many Organizations over the years. He dedicated over 40 years to Scouts Canada and even attended the Grand Opening of Camp Bernard in Sooke BC as well as volunteered at many Scouting Jamborees and events. Bob was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion and his dedication to the Poppy Fund Campaign spanned for many years raising much needed funds to the Veterans programs. Bob retired from Canada Post with a full pension after over 30 years service.

On behalf of Bobs family and friends we’d like to give gratitude to all his caring nursing staff at Arye Manor and his physician Dr. Anton Rabien at Westcoast Family Medical Clinic in Sooke BC, as well as his physician Dr. Mohammud Ibrahim at Valley Medical Clinic in Duncan BC.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Duncan BC, on September 28  from 2 – 5 PM at the Royal Canadian Air Cadets Hall at the 744 Squadron. Address: 3790 Gibbins Rd, Duncan BC.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Bobs name to the Royal Canadian Legion Duncan BC Branch 53’s Poppy Fund Campaign.
