I have known Ruth since my late husband and I transferred our membership out to Shady Creek United church in 2004. She was a very interesting lady and it was obvious that she enjoyed her church family very much. She will definitely leave a void in our congregation.

We sat with Ruth at Central Saanich United Church and shared many conversations about Christina Lake and her time as the Postmistress. Ruth was a great lady and we will miss her smiling face and our conversations. Rest in Peace Ruth

We are saddened of the passing of dear Ruth. We were fortunate to have her live in our Country Park Villlage here in Saanichton for a few years. And it wasn't long before her presence was a familiar one to all of our activities at our park clubhouse. Whether it was coming to sewing day, Friday nite Happy Hours or any of the special holiday events, Ruth could be seen amongst the crowd, always immaculately attired-I mean the lady attended all the clubhouse exercises looking sharp performing the routine with her pearl necklace flinging wilding throughout the routine. Personally, I enjoyed our conversations with great interest as she shared her memories with me during the war years and her travels. May she be at peace. To Ruth's family-thanks for sharing her with us. Ron and Caron Hayes.

I knew Ruth as the Mom of my best friend in Richmond, B.C. In the ‘50s, all of the Moms in the neighbourhood were everyone’s Mom, and Ruth was a special one. She had a wicked sense of humour, could sew, can, cook and bake with ease. I remember her making soap because it would be a shame to let the fat from cooking go to waste. I often think of Ruth’s resourcefulness and good-heartedness; she was a very good part of my upbringing. It made me smile to hear how she continued to learn and grow throughout her life. Rest In Peace, Mrs. Archer. Linda, Pat and Marlene, you are in my thoughts.
