Shirley Diane WILDE (Higgins)

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and Nana, Shirley. She will be greatly missed and dearly remembered by her twin sons Dean (Diane) and Douglas (Valerie), grandsons Bradley (Angela) and Bryan, and, granddaughters Rebecca (Alex), Sophia (Jack) and great grandson Colter. She will also be remembered by her sister Norzie and many other relatives and friends.
Our mother led a very active life. She studied nursing at Ryerson in Toronto, then served in the RCAF Military Police and retired from Western Special Investigation Unit. She was a realtor in Victoria for 28 years. Mom was very political and served as Chairman of the CRD and was the last Regional Director of Metchosin, leading them to incorporation. She was also a Certified Professional Parliamentarian. Shirley owned and operated Gracefield Manor Bed and Breakfast, and had worked as a property manager for many years.
We will treasure her memory and the legacy she has left behind. Special thanks to the Unit A1 care team at Veterans Memorial Lodge for taking such wonderful care of Mom while she was a resident there.
Flowers are gratefully declined but if so chosen, donations can be sent to Veterans Memorial Lodge at Broadmead. At Mom’s request, there will be a private family service held at a later date.
