A remembrance service was held May 18th, 2019 at St. Mary Magdalene Church on Mayne Island, BC with a tea held afterwards for attendees to meet and reminisce. Family and friends had a chance to meet and share their memories and stories of Shirley’s life. Her ashes were scattered in the sea off Georgina Point Lighthouse and a plaque was placed in the remembrance garden next to the church overlooking Active Pass. It was a beautiful sunny day, not too warm and with a light breeze, a perfect day for the ceremony.
