Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the celebration of life for Timo today as I am in Las Vegas volunteering at the Continental Cup of Curling. I know that he liked watching curling on TV so I am sure that he will understand. I also know that he liked to have the occasional beer and placing a few wagers, so this afternoon I will raise a glass in his honour and will contribute to the Nevada economy. Timo, if you can do anything to help me out it will be appreciated. For those of you attending the celebration of life, enjoy yourselves and cherish the memories as that would be what he wanted.

I went to school with Timo, and while I haven't socialized with him much since, I always remember him as a friendly, fun loving guy...who always had a smile and joke to lighten the mood. He's one of the few that made growing up a fun and memorable experience. Thanks Timo !

I have known Timo for many years. My memory of Timo is his smile, it was always a kind genuine one. I hadn't seen Timo for a number of years however I heard about all the pain he endured. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. I hope he is in a better place, pain free.

While I never met Timo in person, as a fellow administrator at kickas.org, I interacted with him regularly for years and always enjoyed our discussions. He did such a great job running our site, and he was well-liked and respected by all. I too, have suffered from AS for more than 30 years, and learning of Timo's passing was a real blow. I send my condolences to his family and take solace in knowing that his pain is over.

Timo will be missed, is missed, by so many people from all over the world. KickAS.org was his baby and there are 11,000-odd members who, even if they never actually talked to him, benefited from his passion for living well even with AS, and kindness in all that he did when keeping the site up and running. Getting to know him better via facebook and email was such a treat and our conversations this past year have been wide-ranging in topic. He was a special person and I miss him.

Thought I would share a few comments I received by forwarding your sad news to some other friends of Timo's. Darren Really sad to hear that, nice guys do not come any nicer than Timo. Phil Brown I knew Timo well. We used to play a lot of darts at the Halfway and the odd tournament. At least he is in a better place now and no pain. Mary & Jake McKinnon played soccer with him (London Boxing Club) I think!! yes, a good guy!! Ray May Nice guy, played on the same team, many years ago. Last time I saw him, his arthritis was crippling him. RIP Timo. Ian McKenzie
