William Frank Henry Redford, 86, of Victoria, British Columbia, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, July 22, 2013. Bill was a retired Chief Petty Officer in the Canadian Navy who loved spending time with his family, reading history books on World War II and watching what he loved to refer to as movie classics. He was always willing to help friends and family with anything they needed. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Bill is survived by his loving children, Dennis (Anne) Redford, Rosemerrie (Norman) Lee, Barbara (Mark) Labrecque, and Cheryl (Paul) Nicholas; his grandchildren Sandra, Michael, Anthony, Danika, Phillip, Elizabeth, Matthew and Ryan; and his great-grandson David; as well as his loving sister Eileen, several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Bill was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Lillian Mildred Redford.
At Bill’s request, there was no funeral service. He was cremated and the ashes will be interned in a private family ceremony at a later date. Donations can be made in Bill’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, 1212 West Broadway, Vancouver, British Columbia, V6H 3V2
