Brenda was born on November 25,1959 in Melville, Saskatchewan and grew up in Cranbrook,BC. She later made her way to Vancouver Island with her brother Garry to work at Qualicum Foods and it was on the Island that she ended up building a life.
Brenda gave herself unconditionally to the people around her; warm, endlessly kind, quick with a joke, and stubborn enough that anyone who knew her well came to love it(and occasionally lose an argument to it). She had a gift for taking people in as her own. For many years she worked as a home care provider, welcoming adults with disabilities into her home as family rather than clients. Brenda had a way of doing the same for anyone else who needed a place at her table, a stray she’d quietly claim as one of her own.
Cooking for others, gathering people around, was how Brenda showed love. This is the thing most people who knew her would probably remember first. She also loved to travel, with a special soft spot for Disney parks.
Brenda is survived by her husband Julian; son Jason ; brothers Ken (Norma) and Garry (Susan); brother and sister Ian(Denise)and Melanie(Neil); nieces Jessica and Kara; and nephews Nathan,Rory, and Shawn
