Dear Sue, We were so sorry to hear of your loss. We didn’t know David well, we always enjoyed a friendly chat as you passed by on your walks. We will miss that smile. Our thoughts are with you and your families. Ann and Ron Postings

Dear Susan and Family I was so sorry to see that David had died when I read the paper this morning. As a previous resident of The Meadows and on the strata council until we moved to Galiano a few years ago, I got to know Susan, also on the Council and David.Though I did not know him well, he always struck me a a lovely, gentle and very intelligent man and I can only imagine his loss to all those you were close to him. My deepest sympathy.

I met Dave (and Sue) at Crown Life, oh so many years ago. Dave and I always had good conversations about why certain techniques were used in programming or sometimes just about life in general. Then we also came to share bridge interests and even after we no longer worked together, I'd get random bridge questions via email. I'll miss knowing that Dave and his enquiring mind are in the world. My husband John and I recently raised a glass of good red wine to Dave's memory - during a bridge tournament in Phoenix - I'm sure Dave would have appreciated the venue!

Dave was a dedicated observer of the night sky, and one of the first Royal Astronomical Society of Canada members who welcomed me to the group - thanks Dave. I certainly will raise a glass to Dave's memory, and celebrate his contributions to amateur astronomy. As webmaster for RASC Victoria Centre, I have posted a memorial to Dave with memories from members on our website - https://www.victoria.rasc.ca/dave-bennett-memorial/

I worked with Dave at 4000 Seymour many years ago. He was always up-beat and friendly. Always smiling. I know he and his wife quietly supported the community. RIP Dave.

Best memories of Uncle Dave revolves around cars and darts. He was always so supportive of my endeavours into school, specifically engineering and math, he was always so inquisitive to what I was doing in school. Uncle dave will always be remembered to me as one of my relatives who understood what I was going through during math finals and we always had a good laugh about the ‘fun’ that was calculus!! He was a great man and will be missed!
