Kelly (Kelvin) Douglas Nontell, of Langford BC passed away in the early morning of Saturday, September 26 after 5 long months in Victoria General Hospital at the age of 77. Kelly was born in Beaverlodge, AB and spent his school years moving around BC and Alberta. Kelly was an avid skier in his youth and spent many years in Scouts becoming a King Scout. He earned an Honours degree from UBC in Biology and Forest Biology. Kelly worked for many years for the province of BC in various government ministries.
Kelly is survived by his wife of 42 years, Denise Blackwell, daughter Renée Young (Piper) and partner Kelsey, son Colin Nontell (Forrest) and brother Dan Nontell of Kamloops (sons Josh (Sarah) and Zack (granddaughters Brynn & Paisley) sister-in-law Sandra Nontell (daughters Sharon(Axel) & Brenda Lee (Barry)(granddaughters Katie (Tim), Lauren (Phillip) and Livia). Kelly was predeceased in death by parents Madge Anna and Art Nontell and brothers Ted and David.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Canada Ski Patrol or a charity of your choice.
