August 23, 1930 - May 16, 2014
Our family sadly announces the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather on Thursday May 15th 2014 after a prolonged struggle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Phyllis, son Greig (Connie), daughter Deborah (Greg) , his 5 grandchildren: Stephenie (Steve), Justin (Jacqueline), Jordan (Trina), Jeffrey (Kimberly), and James (Lily), and his 9 great grandchildren, as well as his younger sister Beverly.
Bill was born in Calgary, beginning work at an early age, developing his passion for cars as well as flying, with his first solo flight at age 15. His career spanned 40 years in the private and public sectors mostly in the HR field, before retiring from his position as Executive Director of Human Resources for the BC Ministry of Health. After retirement, his love of flying was manifest in his dedication to the BC Aviation Museum, serving 2 terms as it’s President.
Bill was a life long member of the LDS Church and served in leadership capacities in Alberta and Victoria.
The family extends their appreciation to the doctors and medical associates who cared for our father in his final months, especially The Saanich Peninsula Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
A memorial service will be held at the LDS Stake Center, 701 Mann Ave, Victoria. BC
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant”
